Sights

1. Statue of Liberty / Ellis Island            
                           

  Ferries every half an hour from Battery Park. From October 28, you can go
  inside the crown again. Before it was closed for renovations.
 









2. Empire State building

3. Central Park

  Food tip: Le Pain Quotidien (With terras) in Central Park, West side,
  at the height of 69 th Street.
  Mon - Sun: 7am-7pm







4. Times Square & Broadway
  Must there be light... Visit this place by day and night. Very crowded
  place in the weekend but you can see Mickey Mouse next to
  Spiderman.








5. Ground Zero

  The rebuilding of the WTC site.








6. Grand Central Terminal
  This big train station reminds me of many movie scenes and is one of
  the finest in the world. Don't forget to look upstairs (and admire the
  stars on the ceiling).






7. MoMa Museum

  Museum of Modern Art
  Entrance: 20 dollar
  Tip: Every Friday, from 4 to 8 pm the entrance is free of charge. Unfortunately
  this free-Friday-night is not a welkept secret, so it can become very crowded.
  Another tip, go at 4 pm, when the majority of the New Yorkers are still
 working in their offfice.

  Also take a visit to the 'insight garden', a very cozy place in the evening.





8. Metropolitan Museum of Art
  Also known as the Met, when you want to see everything in the
  Museum, you need 3 to 5 days. Go and visit the museum on a
  weekday and early in the morning, to avoid the buzz.
  Don't forget to visit the roof terrace.

9. Guggenheim Museum

Guggenheim Museum is a smaller museum with a fine permanent collection and fascinating changing exhibitions. But the building itself is already worth a visit.

In the same Street, you find an other museum: The Museum of the City of New York. In this museum you can watch the short movie 'Timescapes', a movie that tells the history of the city from 1624 until now.

* 'London Street Photography': more then 150 street style pictures, from the Victorian Era until now.

10. High Line
The High Line is a two kilometer walking park between green plants built on a old railway arch. You can find benches and a sun terrace with sunbeds. Visit the website thehighline.org/ for pictures and information about events.

Open from 7 am to 11 pm daily, during the winter form 7 am to 8 pm daily.



Through the High Line you can reach the Meatpacking District (Downtown Manhattan), the most fancy district of the whole city.

Other Sights: 

By day or by night (what you prefer), you must go to the corner of 60 East Street and 2nd Avenue (Roosevelt Island Tramway). Here you can enter the cable-way, where you cross the East River to Roosevelt Island and where you will have a breathtaking view on Manhattan. You must pay with you metro pass.
