- Minju Kim for H&M -

Minju Kim is one of the talented students who just graduated from the Royal Academy in Antwerp and who won the H&M Design Award this year. She created a really poppy collection with pastel colors who remind me of sweet soft candy. I like her round boxy designs and the overall styling of the pieces.

The collection she made for H&M is very wearable but has also a huge special twist. My favorite piece is the scuba sweater with the very nice print. The rest of the collection consists of a dress, pants, jacket, T-shirt, shoes,...
Most striking are the half-garment pieces/accessories that you can mix and match with the other pieces of the collection.

The collection for H&M will hit the stores on October 17 in selected countries like Sweden, Denmark, USA, UK, Japan, South Korea, Italy, France, Belgium, Germany and The Netherlands. The collection will also be available at Opening Ceremony in New York, Los Angeles and London.
I can't hardly wait.

- Birkenstock's -> Yes or No -

DIY Birkenstocks by Natalie Joos of Tales of Endearment

Oh yes they have entered the fashion world. Not mine fashion world, but THE Fashion world out there. We all know Birkenstock's and according to me they belong in hospitals or at the feed of tourist who want comfortable shoes to walk in all day.
They are spotted on several bloggers and street style peeps and I wonder if they will eventually break through completely.

I am really open minded concerning fashion, but Birkenstock are a no-go for me. They might even look oké on some bloggers fashion feet, I can admit that. But for me they are  I am not a slave trend follower, so if I do not like a trend, I will just skip it. Fashion goes fast, so before you now, the trend will be over, unless the item becomes a basic piece, like the striped sailor T-shirt or a leopard print garment.

I have the same feeling no-go feeling about the Nike-running-sneaker trend. In my case running sneakers are only allowed to wear when you actually go running. I don't like them under a styled outfit. Although Nike has some awesome designs right now, I would never where them with ready-to-wear clothing for a day in the city.

What I like more are the variations that designer brands like Céline and high fashion brands like Zara made, inspired on the Birkenstock. They don't really look alike, but maybe that's why I like them so much. :-)

What do you think, Birkenstock's, Yes or No?

- The Palazzo Pants are Back -

Who ever thought this, the Palazzo pants are back and how! :-) I want to say sorry as well, cause I know that these kind of pants don't fit every body type and they say they look better with a long pair of legs. But whatever, if you style it well you can get away with it. I got mine in a vintage store, they are high blue and very wide. My other pair is less wide and I got them at Mango, they are beige-creme. They fit really nice! Now Zara has some design too, click here to see the Zara Palazzo pants. I am now making a pair myself in fashion class with a big polkadot print. Will show the result here later on the blog. Make sure you pair your pants with (high)heels if you want to have a female, elegant look and longer legs :-)

- H&M goes CONSCIOUS -

H&M launched his Conscious collection recently, I was waiting for it for agesss :-)
I had my eye on pants and a top and for my B-day I got a 50$ gift card from my lovely friends because they knew I wanted that look.
The collection consists of several tops and bottoms and mixing looks, all pieces are made of recycled materials, especially recycled polyester. Vanessa Paradise was the face of the campaign of this Spring Summer 2013 collection.
